Slang

In the U.S.A with others countries are common use slang words. And understand Slang is lexical innovation within a particular cultural context and with time these foreign words and regional variations become part of the standard language. The people feel more comfortable when using certain slang to express themselves and feel have something in common with others. Some linguists think of slang as the sprinkles of color in a language and unusual but I think is lost of correct language. Some examples is : OKEY !!

Health Practices

Men and women have distinctly different lifestyles; they differ not only in whether they adopt certain health-related habits but also in their concerns about, or attitudes towards health. On the positive side, women appear to be more attuned to health issues and thus are more likely to make healthy lifestyle choices. On the negative side, women are significantly less physically active than men. In addition, certain health practices of young women show some disturbing trends: they are five times as likely as young men to be underweight, and their smoking rates exceed those of young men, the only age group in which this is so. This shows that people do not care enough on their health.

Travel Destination

My travel destination is Europe. I would like to know Italy. Visit various tourist destinations such as Venice and Rome. Knowing the Vatican and the various architectural wonders found there. Visit museums and historical sites. Walking through the streets and appreciate different artistic styles in one place. Visit a vineyard and take a good wine. Eating a good pasta. Browse a “gondola”. Of course the trip would be wonderful with my family. Together appreciate such beauty.

My favorite Restaurant

My favorite food is Chinese food. My favorite restaurant is called “Flower of Lotto”. This place is South of the Subway in Sabana Norte. Here, the food is really delicious but the place is very small. It has a wide variety of dishes made with vegetables. Also the food has a good appearance, aromatic flavor and excellent taste. I like soup, rice, salad and special flavors as ginger. In Chinese culture them believe the colors are greatly arouse people's appetite and taste can be divided into five classes: sweet, sour, bitter, hot and salty. I love that mixture. I don’t have favorite dishes. I like all. And I think the Chinese food is good in color, flavor and taste.

Video Games

In Costa Rica are more people playing video games as entertainment. The games are all different ages and you can buy it anywhere. Also you can found video games of: puzzles, role-playing, adventure games, simulation and other. The main attraction of games is possibility to create fantasy world and fight imaginary battles. But today, some people are against the use of these. Some people say are good because are good coordination and to develop to imagination. And other people say it is not because gamer will get addicted to video games and spend too much time playing. However, in the case of children the parents will check out the games and will limit the time their children spend. But, finally I think that real problem in this country is the low restriction on sale of video game.

Good Manners

More and more people on the world lost good manners with others. Are you this one? Well, this note is for you. Remember…When do you want attention to someone, you can say “Excuse me” or “sorry”. When do you need help, you can use “Would or Could” for the serious to situations. Always say “Please” and “Thank you”. Always remember one discussion you show consideration and respect. When you are talking with someone remember see them face. If you have children teach them to be courteous. Finally, think “Treat others as you want them to treat you”.

CRIME

Historically ours country is an example in defending of the human rights. But, today are failing to care citizen. The insecurity is a problem that grows day by day. Now, nobody are safe. For example, we can read in the newspaper all days what more people are victim of a crime, on street, their houses, in the jobs. I think what happening with government intervention. We need feel safe and maybe the solutions more policemen on the streets and a new legislation against delinquency. And to guarantee the ideal application to laws the government can use new technologies how the test to ADN. In this way less people go to jail without a guilty.

My community

I come from community called Barva. In the center is a beautiful park where the persons meet to converse and play. Also we possess wide green spaces and a beautiful church. Barva is characterized for stimulating the art and the traditions prevail, turning into the cradle of sculptors and painters. The architecture also is own local characteristic and of patrimonial value. The persons are friendly and very hard-working. They know themselves and they help themselves between them. We possess a very developed trade. Here, we have: supermarkets, drugstores, banks, shops, snack foods, in the surroundings of the community. The place is really beautiful. And I love my community.

ACTIVITY

On Wednesday, May 26th I attended a conference on promoting reading organized by university. Where the writer Evelyn Ugalde usually mention some basic techniques to encourage reading in children. However, the talk will center on the reading of two of her children's books whose stories are inspired by traditional fairy tales how “Pinocchio”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “Aladdin”. But her stories have a contemporary approach. Also she mentions that in the country there are many facilities for freelance writers to publish their works without having the backing of bigger publishing companies. For example her books were published in Costa Rica and all Latin America. I love reading but I don’t like fairy tales. So In conclusion the conference was some interesting but very boring.
